When the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position, the various parts of the combination meter are illuminated in the following sequence.
1. Warning lights, indicator lights, meter needles, gauge needles, odometer and trip meter back light illuminate.
2. Meter needles and gauge needles each show MAX position.
3. Meter needles and gauge needles each show MIN position.
4. Dials and indicators in meters and gauges light up.
5. Regular illumination (for driving) begins.
NOTE
The above sequence of operations may not take place if you quickly turn the ignition switch to start the engine. This is not a malfunction.

The speedometer shows the vehicle speed.
Odometer
This meter displays the odometer when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position.
The odometer shows the total distance that the vehicle has been driven.

Locking and unlocking from the outside
To lock the driver’s door from the outside with the key, turn the key toward
the rear. To unlock the door, turn the key toward the front.
Pull the outside door handle to open an unlocked door.

1) Rotate the lock lever rearward.
2) Close the door.

Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) system warning
The brake system warning light also illuminates if a malfunction
occurs in the EBD system. In that event, it illuminates together with the ABS warning
light. The EBD system may be malfunctioning if the brake system warning light and
ABS warning light illuminate simultaneously during driving.
