Subaru Outback (BR): System maintenance
NOTE
In the event that the vehicle’s battery is replaced, discharged or disconnected,
it will be necessary to start the vehicle a minimum of one time using the key prior
to activating the remote engine start system. This is required to allow the vehicle
electronic systems to resynchronize.

accelerator pedal slightly and move the shift lever/select lever back and forth
between “1”/“D” and “R” repeatedly. Do not race the engine. For the best possible

2. Remove the bulb cover, by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the retainer spring.
5. Replace the bulb, then set the retainer spring securely.
