Subaru Outback (BR): LOCK
The key can only be inserted or removed in this position. The ignition switch will lock the steering wheel when you remove the key.
If turning the key is difficult, turn the steering wheel slightly to the right and left as you turn the key.
The key can be turned from “Acc” to “LOCK” only when the key is pushed in while turning it (all models) and the select lever is in the “P” position (AT and CVT models).

A: REMOVAL
1) Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle.

2) Pull out the torque converter assembly. <Ref. to 5AT-63, REMOVAL, Torque Converter Assembly.>
3) Remove the transmission harness connector from stay.

Remove loose dirt, dust or debris with a vacuum cleaner. If the dirt is caked
on the fabric or hard to remove with a vacuum cleaner, use a soft brush then vacuum
it. Wipe the fabric surface with a tightly wrung cloth and dry the seat fabric thoroughly.
