Subaru Outback (BR): LOCK
The key can only be inserted or removed in this position. The ignition switch will lock the steering wheel when you remove the key.
If turning the key is difficult, turn the steering wheel slightly to the right and left as you turn the key.
The key can be turned from “Acc” to “LOCK” only when the key is pushed in while turning it (all models) and the select lever is in the “P” position (AT and CVT models).

Selecting audible signal operation
Using an electronic chirp, the system will give you an audible signal when the
doors lock and unlock. If desired, you may turn the audible signal off.
To deactivate the audible signal, perform the following procedure. You can also
use the same steps to restore the function.

WARNING
When shifting down a gear, ensure that the vehicle is not travelling at a speed
exceeding the Maximum Allowable Speed for the gear which is about to be selected.
Failure to observe this precaution can lead to engine over-revving and this in turn
can result in engine damage.
